As much as I love the change of seasons and LOVE what amazing times our mountain environment brings to us during all the sunny summer Montana Weddings… I am looking forward to my next wedding with a couple from Scotland, just a week from tomorrow! Welcoming them to Montana very soon!!!!

Big day in Paradise Valley

It was a Big day in Paradise Valley, when Megan and John merged their lives and their families. Lot’s of joy and lot’s of emotion in these loving and authentic souls. Thanks to Becca Boylan for shooting with me on this wedding. She brought her love of people and her uncanny ability to find the magical moments both serious and hilarious, of adults and children alike. I will let the images tell the story. In a word “SWEET”

And in the end I joined my young friends in celebrating this most wonderful marriage. Cheers to Megan and John, Cash and Cruz!

Life and Love

‘Life and Love’ seemed to be a fitting title for this post about the wedding of Sierra and Tyler at the Woodlands a few weeks ago. I don’t really have the words to explain it right now… perhaps later. However, if you take a few minutes to walk through some of the fun, loving, serious, playful, thoughtful and dear moments of this wedding… you’ll get it!

The sumptuous flowers were the creation of Julio Freitas ‘The Flower Hat’ guy. The culinary deliciousness was provided by Chef Liz Kilby of Just A Taste Catering. And the beautiful gown and men’s attire… by Megan Jacks of After 5 and Weddings.

Rainbow Ranch Wedding : Toni and Rance

Toni and Rance were married recently at this Rainbow Ranch Wedding. It was a stellar experience. The high mountain valley of Big Sky provided the drama and beauty of a June day with all of the possible weather surprises. And then at the last minute the sun shown on this couple and their families with the most beautiful array of light, mist, puffy clouds, deep blue sky and sunshine. They got it all, everything, the whole show!!! And, I was honored to be the witness with camera in hand.

Over the past 13 years I have enjoyed a very special place to work, usually once or twice a year. In the earlier years it was along side of one of the owners and my good friend Patrick Hurd. But as life evolves, Patrick moved on and sold his interest in this very special place. At that time I wondered what would become of this gem in the mountain valley of Big Sky, the Rainbow Ranch. If you have visited, stayed there or attended a wedding there… you know where of I speak. The Rainbow Ranch is today, and has always been a GEM in the heart of Big Sky, Montana. Life’s changes brought a wonderful woman into this place and she would shoulder the job of being the front person, the hostess of such a gracious and amazing place. A place that welcomes people from all over the world and envelopes them in the warmth of our Montana hospitality. Mollie Eckman is the fine hostess and General Manager of this magical place.

The images that I share here are witness to this place and the fine work that Mollie and her staff perform, week after week, selflessly helping all of their guests experience the magic that is in this place we call home… Montana. Cheers to the Rainbow Ranch, Mollie Eckman and the standard of excellence that they maintain.

btw… the boys dropped their drawers to get into the river! smiles. There was some moonlight in the middle of the day.

Sabrina and John

Sabrina and John were married on a wonderful spring like ‘moist’ day at the Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon. The dampness enhanced the beautiful feeling of the day.
