A big time in Big Sky

Ok, so… ever think life is boring, bland, simple and uninteresting??? I beg to differ.

Here are some images of an amazing wedding that I shot last Saturday… and it reminded me of how wonderful and diverse and beautiful our lives truly are. This was a big wedding, a big time in Big Sky. They packed the Big Sky Chapel with wonderful folks from all over Montana and beyond. The full Catholic Mass was beautiful in every detail. The priest opened his heart to all those present and when the vows were made and the rings exchanged, thank God for the amazing light he shown into the chapel, it was quite auspicious!

Of course where there are families, there are children and they were very much a part of this event as you will see in the photos. Thanks to the 320 Guest Ranch for their impeccable hospitality, to Joe’s DJ for great coordination and music, to my friend Merissa Lambert for her excellent second shooting and moral support. I wish I knew who did the beautiful flowers… I would love to tell you.

Lindsey and Ara

First of all, what a sweet couple this is. I have not met them in person but just from the photos that Becca captured last week, I am impressed with their kind essence. Lindsey and Ara are marrying this September and Becca Boylan is shooting for them. It was a ‘meet and greet’ photo session on the hill in Bozeman, a chance for Becca to get know this couple a bit and make meaningful images. And, a chance for Lindsey and Ara to meet Becca, get over the nerves of being photographed, and see what a talent Becca really is!

Yes Becca, I said that! Regardless of how tough critique has been at times over the years, now you can see the results of your hard work.

Enjoy the images. They are breath taking. Becca Boylan has interned with Jennie Lynn and me since she was 16 years old. Now she’s 21 and more highly trained for this than most young shooters her age! I am proud to represent Becca Boylan this year and on into 2017.

Paradise Valley gorgeous and windy

Last weekend it was rain, rain, rain. Yesterday it was wind, wind, wind! But that doesn’t deter couples that LOVE Montana from running around for some very special images.

Lindsay and Mike are marrying this weekend at the historic Springhill Pavilion. As for the weather, the weather will be what it is! And it will be dramatic and beautiful come rain or shine!

Classic Chico Hot Springs

It was a Classic Chico Hot Springs wedding. The first images I took had this historic feeling to them. A nostalgic feeling was in the air, perhaps the many memories of the thousands of couples and families that have celebrated a wedding at this century old resort. Chico is a fabulous place with amazing service and outstanding views!

The feeling of the day was immeasurably authentic and kind. In a word ‘SWEET’ just like Laura and Jake!

Laura and Jake drove in from Minnesota yesterday and met me at 6 pm for a few pictures before their Saturday wedding at Chico Hot Springs in the gorgeous Paradise Valley. I’m not quite sure how you can drive for 14 hours, clean up a bit and run out the door for pictures… but that’s the way they roll. This is one great couple and I’m tickled to get to photograph for them. Thanks to the Yellowstone Valley Lodge for letting us on their piece of heaven along the banks of the Yellowstone River.

Ok, so… here’s a little gift to the father and mother of the bride, my dear friends Steve and Christa. I was helping out Jennie Lynn doing some second camera for their daughter Hanna’s marriage to to Jaron Hartman. My post was outside the chapel, waiting for the bride to appear and proceed to the church to be married. As always, I am enamored by the moments that arise! The light, the breeze, the feelings, the heart beat of life measuring time. So beautiful.
