Paradise Valley in Gold

In the course of a year there is rarely a day when the Paradise Valley is not spectacular! Whether it’s the freezing temperatures of the dead of winter, a rainy day in spring or even when the smoke of a fire far away puts a golden filter on everything. On this day it was a bit smokey with a late afternoon sun.

This couple brought their own brightness to the valley and nature shown kindly upon them. The wedding is coming right up in August in a high mountain valley near Big Sky. I can’t wait!

And… after we had said goodbye and I started my drive up the valley, the entire sky began to light up! I pulled over immediately, grabbed my camera and trotted out to the highway in hopes that my clients were following the same route. Soon they came rolling up and I waved them over to capture this most amazing sunset! SWEET! I love it when that happens! Magic!!! I can’t wait to see what their wedding day will bring!!!

And then… the wedding!

Such a wonderful summer of weddings, surprise proposals, sunny warm days and time by the river at the magnificent 320 Guest Ranch!

It was an honor to photograph for this couple and their families. Thanks to my famously talented friend Carlie Breen Auger for shooting with me on this momentous wedding day! Carlie, I could not have done it without you!!!

I was happy to set my feet on the ground at the 320 Guest Ranch and do what I love to do! The crew at the ranch made us all feel like we were right at home!!!

Lone Mountain Ranch wedding

Summer time is just around the corner and LMR is a spectacular place for a wedding of any size! And the view is breathtaking.

Nicole and Joe married at the Lone Mountain Ranch in Big Sky, Montana. High on the hill above the ranch with spectacular views of Lone Peak, the groom rode in on a horse and the bride on a massive horse drawn wagon. The couple, the pastor (the inimitable Rev. Bradford Lartigue), and the smiling ranch hands… under a blue sky full of mountain tops! Wow! Enjoy the view.

Jessica and Colton married at the gorgeous 320 Guest Ranch in Big Sky. It was a very private and wonderful wedding. It seemed that everywhere I looked, I found magic! I felt honored to be hired to photograph this beautiful wedding. They made me feel like family!

Livingston Peak Love

Alex and Reem came into town this week for their wedding in the mountains under the radiance of the massive Livingston Peak. Yesterday, I decided to take a drive up the mountain road to explore the route to the wedding location. I always like to get the feel for a place and check the conditions of rough mountain roads before the day of.

As I was poking around at the locked property gate hoping for a sign of life, up drove two pickup trucks. I introduced myself and told them my business. The gentleman smiled widely and as fate would have it was the father of the groom. So, he invited me to follow him up to the ranch and showed me the wedding location. OUTSTANDING!

Soon I got a call from Reem and went over the details of the upcoming wedding plan. With the potential of some wet weather on her wedding day, we decided it would be wise to meet at the property later in the day for some pre-wedding photos. We had a delightful hour together running around making photos in the beauty of this high mountain valley.

320 Guest Ranch , Big Sky wedding

Nicole and William married at the 320 Guest Ranch in Big Sky on a beautiful day in August. Families and friends gathered alongside the river on this lovely historic Montana ranch. It’s the perfect place for a Big Sky wedding in the mountains where a river runs through it. At every wedding there is always a bitter sweet environment that is always with us as human beings. That is the truth of life and death. This occasion was immensely sweet, beautiful and wonderful in every way and yet the knowledge of the recent loss of the bride’s father was in everyone’s heart and his life was celebrated on this special wedding day. His presence was tangible at his daughter’s wedding! It was an honor to photograph with this couple, their families and friends. The pictures tell the story!
