There is something very special about a private elopement wedding in the altitude and vastness of the mountains of Montana and the quietness of nature. Nastasya and Tony were married on a Saturday in August on a beautiful mountainside at the Lone Mountain Guest Ranch. I felt blessed to attend and capture the beauty and the feeling of this occasion. Enjoy the view!

I’m excited to announce a unique addition to my wedding photography menu!
Ok, so… In November I found myself in a helicopter with one of my clients going up into the mountains to capture amazing wedding portraits. Camden Miller was the videographer that also got this unique opportunity. We met at the hanger before the flight and over the course of the next few hours and days, we became friends and ever since we’ve been putting our heads together to create what I call a ‘Montana hybrid imagery’ package.
A couple weeks ago we had our first shot at making this endeavor a reality. It goes like this. Camden and I work together seamlessly to capture both still imagery (that’s my job!) and Camden does his artful work to captures video highlights of the wedding day experience. This wedding took place on a snowy day at the Lone Mountain Ranch in Big Sky. Mother Nature put on a beautiful show of the most serene snowfall for the sleigh ride into the mountains and the wedding ceremony. It was magic!
With the talented drone piloting and video work of Camden, the end result is a full collection of moments captured in still photography and a highlights video for the couple to have to view for a lifetime. It’s really the best of both worlds… Montana Hybrid Imagery.
So take in the show and then see the moments captured as still photos below.
As we walk through this life always… Enjoy the view!
Winter time brings a beautiful white hush to the mountains in our Montana Big Sky country. A scenic mountainous wonderland for downhill, cross country and back country skiing is abundant. Only a few brave couples decide to marry outside during the long months of winter. Those who dare reap the rewards!
Joanna and Andrew made plans in November last year to marry at the scenic Lone Mountain Ranch in Big Sky, Montana. I was excited and pleased to put them on my schedule for an early February wedding. They made plans to marry on the ridge above the lodge with amazing views regardless of the weather or temperature.
Bitter cold days pressed in on our area for a couple of weeks before the wedding. I prepared myself and my gear for the worst. Fortunately there was a magical inversion in the area of the lodge. The temperature in the Bozeman valley below Big Sky hovered around the zero mark, while 2000 feet higher at Lone Mountain Ranch it was an amazing 30 degrees! And OH MY… did it snow. The most luscious snowfall I have seen for awhile. The end result was an amazing winter wonderland wedding in the mountains!
So, please take a couple of minutes and experience the bliss of this ‘marriage at altitude’ in Montana!
Congratulations to Joanna and Andrew! Thanks for finding me…
Lisa and Wells were married last weekend in Big Sky Chapel with sleigh ride and dinner at the mountain cabin of Lone Mountain Ranch. This place is one of the finest Montana wedding venues for intimate wintertime weddings. WHAT A TREAT! The evening was graced with the most beautiful snow fall. It was such a charming winter wedding… enjoying a fine meal in a cabin, prepared and cooked on a century old wood cook stove. Candle light and lanterns provided the light for the cabin, no electricity. It was so excellent.
Friends and family were aglow with the joy of Lisa and Wells’ wedding day! Enjoy the photos.
The boys at play. This foursome went to med school together. It’s a special tie.
This was one of my favorite grabs. I love their togetherness while talking to guests.
Rick Steinke and Linda Hausler provided the music at several times during the evening.
Thanks to my fine young assistant and second camera, Becca Boylan. Becca… you rock!
