Thanks to the Bozeman Downtown Association for putting on the 12th annual Downtown Bozeman Bridal Walk. I was honored to be included in the Photography Contest and took home 1st Place in the Most Unique category. It seems this is an award winning Montana photo! Last year, this image won international acclaim placing 12th in the a contest put on by the WPJA. The Wedding Photojournalist Association is a worldwide association of professional wedding photojournalist.

Thanks to the Meridian Boutique for hosting my photo and allowing me to meet and greet over 200 future brides in their lovely shop.

The Downtown Bozeman Association Presents the Winners of the 6^th Annual Bridal Walk Photography Contest and the Bridal Walk $500 Shopping Spree. Downtown Bozeman Association and nearly 40 Downtown Retailers hosted the 12^th Annual Downtown Bozeman Bridal Walk on Saturday, April 9^th.

There were over 225 registered brides who strolled down Main Street with hundreds of friends to make their Montana wedding complete. Along the way, they were welcomed by nearly 40 businesses and partook in activities such as listening to classical music, wine and cake tastings, participated in the photography contest and registered for all kinds of wonderful prizes including the $500 downtown shopping spree.

During the 6^th Annual Bridal Photography contest, an activity for brides and the general public to enjoy, there were a total of 8 amazing bridal photographs displayed in nearly all of the participating business locations and we received hundreds of votes! The Downtown Bozeman Association awarded winners for the amazing photographs for the following 3 categories; Most Unique, Most Scenic and Best Overall but all of the photos were enjoyed by all who attended and can be viewed on our Downtown Bozeman Facebook page.

January Big Sky winter wedding

It was as a crisp cold day in Big Sky for this January Big Sky winter wedding for the Bethea family, but that didn’t stop us from getting outside for some outdoor portraits before the ceremony. Inside in the Atrium, candles at the Big Sky Resort were lit and everything was warm and comfy for the ceremony. It was a highly celebratory evening with lots of dancing and loads of fun.

It was a grand evening in Big Sky!

Life Authentic – A dance for Dad

I was trying to finish my last wedding album of 2015 today when I came back upon these moments at Kristin and Sean’s wedding last October at the Rainbow Ranch Lodge. These images stopped me in my tracks and once again grabbed my heart. There is a powerful ‘story’ in these images as you will see. A story beyond words, a story that you can read in the faces, the tears and the soulful dancing.

The Story about life authentic – A dance for Dad

Shortly after her first dance with Sean, Kristen took the microphone and told the story of how her father left this life quickly and without warning. She spoke eloquently of his virtues and how he loved the west and how he embodied such a giving and loving heart. Then she poignantly expressed her grief that she never had the opportunity to say goodbye and that the next dance was a dance to celebrate his life, and to honor her Daddy. She invited everyone to join in and express their love and joy of life. Then she stepped into the circle of her family and began the celebratory dance for her Dad. Everyone joined in!

I think it was the most moving and authentic thing I have ever experienced at a wedding. Enough said. Here’s to Kristin’s Dad!

Rainbow Ranch Wedding in the Rain

I am excited about photographing at the Rainbow Ranch again in September 2016. I thought it might be appropriate to revisit this rainy day in May at the Rainbow Ranch. I’ve got my fingers crossed for a sunny fall day in September! But if not, don’t worry. I will kill it regardless of the weather!

Melissa and Jarrod married in grand style on a lovely spring Saturday afternoon in Big Sky. Their wedding was blessed with RAIN… and lot’s of it. It was an amazing Rainbow Ranch Wedding in the Rain with floral and event design by Katalin Green Events. This was the kick off of my official summer full of weddings. Thanks to my daughter Jennie Lynn for her spectacular image making and solid support. The evening was topped off with the voice and spirit of “Cold Hard Cash”… a must see show, a peerless presentation of the music of Johnny Cash.

Enjoy the fabulous view of this heart felt and spirited wedding. Cheers to my new friends Missy and Jarrod!

Big Sky winter fun

I had some Big Sky winter fun last weekend! Did a little shooting with a past wedding client and a new one. It was great, and when I got home I was toast and loved every minute of it.

Thanks to Margot at the Big Sky Resort for all of her work to make the wedding a complete success. I just got the images off the cards and I’ll have a full blog of this beautiful wedding soon.

As for the portraits, I fell in love with this young man Jude Wilemon. I dubbed him the little man! He’s like a grown man in a baby boy’s body. Mom and Dad were getting ready while I played with Jude on the couch and put him on my knee for some fun grab. I was grabbing photos and he was looking at his reflection in the front element of my lens… trying to reach in touch his image. It was quite the balancing act. LOVE these portraits. Thanks Tonie and Rance.

Le Petit Chateau August wedding

Samantha and Logan tied the knot in late August, it was a Le Petit Chateau August wedding. Warm, green and full of delicious Montana sunshine that seemed to last forever! This is a smaller album that I offer. I call it the Highlight Album for obvious reasons.
