Living in Montana

family time in NY

A few weeks ago I was in the Midwest. This week I am in the Northeast and I am loving the change of view. It’s family time for me around the US… and I have been flying around viewing life through the eyes of my family, young and old and reconnecting to our common roots. OH SO GOOD for this guy!
So take a look and may it bring appreciation of all family ties: yours, mine and others. Family is a great blessing!
With love in my heart.

Montana, Land of Rainbows

It seems that Livingston is Montana, Land of Rainbows! Many evenings this summer have been graced by rainbows. Here’s a little eye candy for you.  The odds are strong in favor of rainbow’s for wedding and portrait session this weekend.

It’s a busy weekend in Big Sky and Livingston… then it’s off to Flathead Lake for more image making at Flathead Lake Lodge.  fun…..

Living in Montana, floating the Yellowstone

So what is the activity of choice when I have a weekend off?  Floating the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley.  This week my nephew Jason is visiting from Kansas City.  The fishing float was a gift from my good friend Derek DeYoung.  If you don’t know who Derek is and you love fishing and you love art, you should check it out. Derek DeYoung

Jason won the ‘best fish of the day’ award.  A 16 inch fatty Rainbow.  And I am happy to say that the fish still lives and thrives in the Yellowstone.

and oh yes, #meaningfultobehold

Derek’s patented OPEN HEART casting technique! It’s like yoga for fishermen and women.

stuck in Livingston on a winter day

I slid home last night over the Bozeman pass at about 35 mph.  It was just the perfect mix of rain turning to snow with temperatures that were dropping.  It made the highway through the mountains a skating rink with impatient driver, some without snow tires.  It was sort of comical in a sick way.  I watched cars and trucks slide off the roadway in slow motion.  In a stretch of 10 miles I saw 4 vehicles off the road and two others that had collided and were sitting waiting for the tow trucks.

Well all that to say, winter is here and so today,  my car stayed in the driveway and I took a walk around the neighborhood to see the more beautiful aspects of a winter storm.

Livingston is so quaint when it gets snuggled in for the winter.  Enjoy the view.
