Most Amazing Sunset

Well, you’ve probably noticed how fascinated I am with the sky, rainbows and vast, amazing arrays of light in our big Montana Sky. Well, Sarajane and Dan picked a winner when they selected July 7th for their wedding at the Foster Creek Farm on the outskirts of Bozeman. I was watching the sky throughout the day and I could see that there was a very strong possibility that the sunset would be grand. And… it was!

I had the unique pleasure of second shooting this wedding with my visually astute daughter Jennie Lynn. Sarajane and Jennie Lynn attended college together for a few years in New York and have maintained their friendship over the years. When Sarajane and Dan decided to marry, they put the call out to Jen and she happily accepted.

It has been a bit of a blur since we were shooting in New Hampshire and then flew back just a few days before this wedding and a few more after that. BUT, what a great blur it is! I totally loved Sarajane and Dan’s wedding. Foster Creek Farm is a gorgeous venue and we were well received by their professional staff.

One sweet detail that I must share. Sarajane’s engagement ring was Dan’s Great Grandmother’s! The last wedding image in this collection is the ring I placed in front of a picture of that beautiful woman on her wedding day. Wow!

Julia and Kevin – Bozeman wedding

Summer weddings are coming up quickly! I still have one Saturday in July open and a couple in August. I loved this wedding at the Woodlands in Bozeman last July. Jennie Lynn was primary shooter and held all the responsibilities of driving the boat… and I got to have some fun and shoot 2nd camera. Jen put the pressure on me when she told me to do my ‘creative thing’. That’s all I needed was a little nudge! This group was so full of joy and fun! We loved every minute of it. Now the pics!

As much as I love the change of seasons and LOVE what amazing times our mountain environment brings to us during all the sunny summer Montana Weddings… I am looking forward to my next wedding with a couple from Scotland, just a week from tomorrow! Welcoming them to Montana very soon!!!!

telling moments

I love to contemplate the moments that make up life. One after another always turning the page of mind. There are special moments that are spacious and moments that stop me and demand that I take notice. I like to think of them as Telling Moments.

During a wedding ceremony when two souls exchange vows of connection, vows of lifelong support and bonds… it always stops me in my tracks. It’s like everything is suspended. All the hustle and bustle leading up to the wedding day, all the planning, hard work and celebration stops. I always like to watch for the moments like these. And when everything stops, something special rushes in!

Sabrina and John

Sabrina and John were married on a wonderful spring like ‘moist’ day at the Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon. The dampness enhanced the beautiful feeling of the day. Le Petit Chateau, Bozeman wedding

Ok, so one week following our West Yellowstone visit, Jennie Lynn and I changed roles and she joined me for a wedding with Amanda and Kelsey at the Le Petit Chateau for a beautiful Bozeman wedding. It was a warm fall evening. After the wedding ceremony we headed for the hills south of Bozeman to photograph on a friend’s beautiful spread. We got what we were looking for… a scenic view above the valley. Thanks to Julio Freitas for his unusually beautiful floral art!!!
