Chico Hot Springs wedding, Paradise Valley

Chico Hot Springs weddings are a weekly occurrence all year round. For over 15 years, I have photographed with couples from all over the world at this beautiful lodge and hot springs tucked into the hills of Paradise Valley. From England to Scotland and including just about every state in the US, people come here for a very good reason. If you don’t know why, you should go visit for yourself. As they say “location, location, location”, Chico has spectacular views in every direction and I would also add service, charm, excellent food, history, a great western bar and of course a wonderful hot springs facility.

Well, on July 14th this Chico wedding couple were Montanan’s and I felt right at home!!! So much family love and participation. It was a rocking night complete with the band headed by the bride’s father, family and friends. It was great!

Paradise Valley engagement photos

Anne Marie and Dan drove up from Teton National Park for their engagement session in the Paradise Valley. When they got here the place was full of reddish smoke that created a scrim over the sun. We met in Livingston and discussed possibly putting off the shoot, but quickly decided to head down into the smokey valley and GO FOR IT! Nothing ventured nothing gained! Over the years I’ve learned that, when in pursuit of meaningful images there is no such thing as easy. NO MORE EASY IMAGES.

I took them to a friend’s ranch that overlooks the Yellowstone for their photo session. The wind had subsided to a breeze and the magic of a Paradise Valley sunset began. The results were stunning.

October 6th we will see what the Paradise Valley holds in store for their gorgeous wedding day!

Paradise Valley engagement Anna and Adam

The Paradise Valley engagement shoot of Anna and Adam was stunningly beautiful. The late afternoon sun streamed across the valley (without smoke) and created beautiful back light and warmth. We roamed around on the beautiful family property and visited a secret pond! Bailey, Anna’s dog joined us for the photo romp and was quite happy to have her portrait taken!

Their wedding is coming up next August at the Sage Lodge in Paradise Valley. Can’t wait!

Paradise Valley elopement

For Bethany and Kelley, their trip to Montana started off as an elopement. But as it turned out their friends and family weighed in… so, the wedding photography turned into a pre-wedding photo session.

As we stood above the Paradise Valley the sky was beautiful and dramatic. Moisture filled the air and a glowing light seemed to emanate for all around. To me it seemed that these two were married right then and there by the powerful nature of our springtime in Montana.

Best wishes to my new friends on their wedding day in Georgia! Perhaps I will have the pleasure of photographing the event in their beautiful part of the country.
