My friends Shelly and Tom are getting married this summer!!! Springtime in the Rockies brings unique color into the sky, into the water and into our souls! AND, when a sun halo appears overhead, before you even start shooting… THAT’S DOWNRIGHT AUSPICIOUS!!! So happy to get to capture their engagement photos right here in Livingston, Montana.

Making portraits is fast and fun… in my book. It’s all about helping my subjects to relax and have some fun and at least momentarily forgetting that they are being photographed. Then the real person is seen. Engagement portrait sessions are complimentary with my wedding packages and highly encouraged for my clients. It’s a ‘getting to know you’ time for all of us, and this makes the photos on the wedding day a breeze. Besides, it’s a hoot and it get’s me out of the studio, camera in hand!
August will find Calla and John in Geneva, Switzerland giving vows to one another in front of their friends and families. Today they were here in Montana on the banks of the Yellowstone river for a most beautiful winter sunset. It was a great pleasure to make these photos of a young lady that has been part of our family since she was very, very young. Cheers to Christopher and Christine on the engagement of their sweet daughter to this fine young Frenchman.

Last weekend it was rain, rain, rain. Yesterday it was wind, wind, wind! But that doesn’t deter couples that LOVE Montana from running around for some very special images.
Lindsay and Mike are marrying this weekend at the historic Springhill Pavilion. As for the weather, the weather will be what it is! And it will be dramatic and beautiful come rain or shine!

Rainy Day Love, sometimes you can’t fight it. This was the second day that I had scheduled portraits with this wonderful couple. The first day was so rained out and cold that even I didn’t what to go out. So we called it off and rescheduled. Yesterday was set and we stuck to it. The umbrella’s came out of the trunk, pulled the rain cover over the top of my camera bag and off we went. There was no staying dry so we lost the umbrellas and just went with it… and I am so glad we did.
Kate and Mike are marrying this September at the Wildflower Gardens in Red Lodge. I am fairly sure it will be a sunny wedding day!!!
At the end of the session we were all wet and cold, but the photos were quite WARM and filled with ‘rainy day love’ Enjoy!
Laura and Jake drove in from Minnesota yesterday and met me at 6 pm for a few pictures before their Saturday wedding at Chico Hot Springs in the gorgeous Paradise Valley. I’m not quite sure how you can drive for 14 hours, clean up a bit and run out the door for pictures… but that’s the way they roll. This is one great couple and I’m tickled to get to photograph for them. Thanks to the Yellowstone Valley Lodge for letting us on their piece of heaven along the banks of the Yellowstone River.
