Engagement Photo book

Winter fun at the family ranch.

As Montanans know very well, winter time is variable just like the rest of our year round weather. I left Livingston at 8 am to drive over to Pompei's Pillars on the other side of Billings. Roads were dry. The temperature was a nice 40 degrees with the sunlight cheering my mood. By the time I got on the other side of Billings, it's as if I drove through some sort of snow curtain into another land. The temps dove to around 18 degrees, snow was coming down and visibility quickly becoming problematical. I was creeping along at 35 mph and came across State Highway Patrolman that tried to cross the median. His car was totally up to his fender in snow and obviously waiting for the tow truck.

Pulled into the Morse Ranch and went to work. I photographed Kelsea and Mike, both from Tallahassee, Florida. These guys were troopers! I know they must have been freezing, but we tromped around the Ranch and had a blast. Their Montana wedding is planned for the end of May... I'm sure will be better by then!

They decided to have me make a small album of their engagement photos. I just finished putting this together. Enjoy!

Montana Wedding in May

Kelsea and Mike plan their ranch wedding.

Here we go; the weddings of 2010 are underway!

I drove over to Pompei's Pillars on Saturday and met Kelsea and Mike. Before the fun began, her family and friends made me feel right at home with hot coffee on a cold day. COLD it was and the snow was beginning to blow. But, that didn't stop us from running around the ranch and make hundreds of great images. We photographed outside as long as we could, then ducked into a beautifully renovated old homestead from the early 1900's. We soon got word that the road had just been plowed to get to the wedding site on the hill. BACK OUTSIDE we went. I must admit even I was getting frigid before we were done, I can only imagine what these fine folks from Florida were feeling! I think they had a blast.

Kelsea and Mike are marrying in May at her Dad's ranch. It's planned be an intimate family event and personally... I can't wait.

Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy.
