Big Sky Weddings update

I've been busy again working on my new portfolio site big-sky-weddings.com. It's a work in progress and now that the summer weddings are over, I have time to invest. You'll be seeing new weddings and engagement shoots, added to this collection as the passing weeks take us into the Christmas season.

More exciting news about to hatch here in the studio. I'll keep you posted.

A Montana winter wedding

Megan and Charles married on October 11th this year. They have become my fine friends over the past few months. I was honored to photograph for them on this very special day. The day was cold, crisp and very much alive. Whitetail deer visited the wedding site as snow flew in the foothills of the majestic Absarokee Beartoothe mountains. Everything about this day rose up to celebrate love, joy and happiness as families came together.

Ok, so... as I promised. Here's a look at the fun we had yesterday at the foot of the Crazy mountains. Janice Cartwright of Montana Horse Sense let us use two of her beautiful horses on her gorgeous ranch.

Roshana and Daly drove all the way from Boise for the shoot. We had a blast, I had a hard time tearing myself away from the mid afternoon campfire and Somemore's!!! The couple is marrying this August at the historic Springhill Pavilion.

A brisk morning in Montana

Wilsal, Montana.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to meet Roshana and Daly at a ranch near Wilsal, Montana. They've got horses lined up for the morning and it should be gorgeous at the feet of the Crazy Mountains. The weather man says 51 and mostly sunny by the middle of the day and that means the Crazys will be beautiful all dressed in their white peaks against the dark blue sky of Montana in November.

Roshana and Daly are to be wed this summer and I'm really looking forward to shooting with them tomorrow. It's always so great to get to shoot with a couple ahead of the wedding. We get to know each other and they see what it's like to work together on their images. Then, when the wedding day comes along, they totally are at ease about being photographed and they nearly forget that I'm there. This opens the door for me to be like a fly on the wall and capture all the naturally occurring beauty of their day. Check back early next week to see how much fun we're going to have.

The Rainbow Ranch

I just got an email from my favorite place in Big Sky for your Montana wedding, The Rainbow Ranch. They are in the midst of rebuilding after a devastating fire that consumed the historic lodge. But the race is on to have it rebuilt and ready to go for summer weddings in 2009.
