September wedding at Chico

Shawna and Kelly

Contrary to what things looked like before the ceremony this couple had a gorgeous day. The photos below, speak to rainy days in September... just before the sun and the rainbows! There was a pause while mother nature gave everything a little rinse. Then the sun shone, the chairs got dried off and Shawna and Kelly said their vows in the presence of their family and friends.

Snowy, snowy Montana wedding day

at the Deep Creek Range

Stand in the mountains above the Paradise valley and breath in the cold crisp air of fall, I mean... premature winter! Yikes! I awoke on the morning of the wedding to 7 inches of fresh powdery white stuff, everywhere. It was a surprise to many Montanan's and one might imagine, "shocking" to the visiting friends and family of Megan and Charles.

But, no. No problem. The smiles were wide with joy and everyone was excited by the display of Mother nature for her children who exchanged sacred vows on this day. "Joyful and sacred" is the best way I can explain the mood of this Zen Buddhist ceremony. Everyone's heart were warmed by the experience.

Please visit my new portfolio website to see 10 or so images of the wedding. Just click HERE and when the site opens click on "recent weddings" in the navigation bar on the bottom of the site and then follow the link to "Megan and Charles".

Jenny and Mike's wedding

at the Rainbow Ranch

Ok, so... here it is, the next album design. This time it's a very intimate wedding along the banks of the Gallatin River in Big Sky. Jenny and Mike chose the beautiful Rainbow Ranch Lodge. The August day was warm and spectacular in every way. Enjoy!

By the way... my new portfolio site went live this afternoon. Stop in once in-a-while and watch me build a brand new site.

Wedding Photojournalism

My new site... it's happening!

Right now, tonight, in Prague, Czech Republic, Steven is working the keyboard to put my new sight online. I've started building my new portfolio site.
'
The cool thing is, it's not done. Yep, that's right, NOT COMPLETE. I was thinking what great fun it would be to go ahead and put it online so you folks could watch the site grow as I edit and add the images from this summer's beautiful weddings. That's exactly what I'm doing.

So, it's going live tomorrow. Please forgive any initial minor flaws, which there always are when going live with a website. I love the excitement of events that are happening in the present. I'm a photojournalist at heart. I love the idea of the way life arises, moment by moment, however imperfect. So, I hope you enjoy this process with me as I create this new presentation of my work.

Jenny and Mike: your album is nearly complete. Look for the first draft very soon.

Happy golden fall days! Larry

Bozeman Wedding

Lindsay and Kyle

How about these beautiful fall days!!! Holy cow it's been nice here.

Speaking of Holy. I just finished an album design of a beautiful church wedding that I had the pleasure of photographing recently. Their wedding day was filled with serious, thoughtful, and funny moments. And, well, I guess that's the way it should be.

Enjoy the view!

Rainbow Ranch Wedding

Jenny and Mike

Wow... where does the time go. I've been so stuck in front of my monitor building albums that I almost forgot about sharing some of my very wonderful events of the summer.

I was thrilled to attend a weekday wedding at the Rainbow Ranch. Since the Lodge is under restoration, this intimate family wedding was held at one of the Rainbow's fine cabins by the river. For those of you that are looking for an amazing venue for your 2009 wedding, I just talked to Karen Macklin, event coordinator at the Rainbow Ranch and it's all systems go for weddings in June of next year. It's one of The finest places for a wedding in every way.

I'm working on the images today and the first draft album design will be finished by the middle of next week. Come back and take a peek. It will be gorgeous.

For now, here's a few of my favorites!
