London Observer

Safraz Monzoor comes to Montana!

Saf was a wonderful subject and we had a great time running around photographing on the Ranch. It's not easy to get on a horse for the first time in your life and make a good show of it! Saf was a great sport and endured a bit of ribbing... but the bottom line is that he's the guy that's out running around the world getting these stories. Hat's off to my new friend Safraz! Enjoy the photos.

Last Friday I found myself at the Lonesome Spur Ranch in Bridger, Montana. I got a call from London mid-week and got hired to shoot a spread for the London Observer. Safraz Manzoor spent a week at a local Montana Dude Ranch and is taking his story and my photos back to London for a July 4th spread about Holiday in Montana! Lonnie and Elaine were delightful hosts, and I'm already planning another trip back to pursue some wild horses on horseback. Yep, that right... wild, untamed Montana horses that just run wild on the ranges of Montana. Pretty exciting!

Paradise Valley Family

Summer is so beautiful!

I was down in the Paradise Valley yesterday evening shooting an ad assignment. My models were the Pitmans and I had such fun. I think these images are probably amongst my most favorite of late. I vicariously enjoyed the view and energy of these wonderful children. I think you will too!

Marriage is timeless.

You don't have to be 20 something!

Ok, so... here is my commentary on marriage and love: marriage and love is not restricted to being 20 something. Marriage and love is ageless and timeless.

Without going into a lot of useless verbal elaboration, I submit to you a Montana Spring wedding that says it all.

A most beautiful Montana Wedding.

Big Sky wedding splashes

Really cold water.

Friday I joined Beth, Aaron and their wedding friends for a rock'n ride down theGallatin River in Big Sky. It was one of the inaugural events of their wedding weekend. It was white water rafting at it's best!

I jury rigged a protective housing for my camera (aka: as a customized Ziploc freezer bag) and just hoped that we didn't all go swimming, which was a definite possibility in the class 2 and class 3 white water. This was a day that the bride and groom will never forget. Here are a selection of photos that will give you a taste of the action.

Saturday was as warm and beautiful as you could ever imagine in the mountains of Big Sky Montana. I'll get the album designed during the week ahead... so check back to share the moments with this great couple.

ps. I took some major water straight into face and the "water housing" worked like a charm. Although we came close to getting ejected we all stayed in the boat and the camera survived. Hence the photos!

Athleta - Om on the range

Latest splash.

Here's the latest of my adventures in advertising photography. I met these wonderful women that mix yoga with horse back riding. It seems there are lessons to be learned about yourself from our noble beast and companion of man... the horse. I totally get it and Margaret is here to tell you about it. You can even come to Big Sky and partake of her Yoga/Horseback riding retreat with Big Sky Yoga Retreats in the most spectacular mountainous setting you can imagine.

I recently shot a series of images for Margaret and Annie's Hatha/Equine endeavor. She wrote a great article for her friends at Athleta and well... here's the latest splash on the front page of Athleta's website. Follow the link to the full content and photos.

Any Athleta brides out there looking for smashingly unique wedding photos? Drop me a line and let's collaborate.

Sunshine on a Bozeman Wedding

Connie and Mike get the rays!

Ok, so. I'm starting to catch up with my blogging. I photographed a beautiful wedding for Connie and Mike at the Riverside Country Club last Saturday. And, while the rain storms crossed the mountains to the South, we enjoyed sunshine and a magnificent view of the dramatic weather. Here's a few quick images to share. Look for the album design in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to Jennie Lynn for her contribution to this collection of beautiful images.

Rainy spring in Montana

It's going to be really green!

It's Wednesday and it's still raining! This is by far one of the wettest springs we've had in 10 years. The good news is that everything is turning so green. When summer weather finally makes an appearance it's going to be GRAND.

I'm out the door to a wedding on banks of the Yellowstone River this afternoon. I'm praying for at least a 2 hour window of sunlight and hoping for the best. It's an intimate occasion of about a dozen or so folks from Arizona. I've got my umbrella(s) ready... it should be fun!

A little over a week ago Jenny and Mike came in from Sacramento to plan for their August wedding in Big Sky. They came from 100 degree weather in California and were met by 50 degrees and rain. We got together to make some fun/wet engagement photos. We started off in my studio and then borrowed the historic Gallatin Gateway Inn. Such delightful people!

Engagement photo shoots

They make great guest books for signing.

I've been doing some fun engagement sessions lately, and the images make for a very personal and exciting guest book. Here's the guest book I designed for Alicia and Tyler. Lots of white space for their friends and family to sign and loaded with remarkable images.

They come is a variety of sizes but I like the 10x10 and 7x10 formats. This one is 7x10 inches. The first image is the cover that wraps around the hardbound book. Enjoy!
