Josh and Marcia, September 8th Wedding

Chico Hot Springs Resort wedding.

So here I am, building the third to the last album of the summer wedding season here in Montana. Looking back upon the wonder of the summer in these mountain valleys. And, I have one thing to say. Give me a "real" and passionate wedding any day of the week. I don't care how fancy the flowers are, how much they paid for the dress, the rings, the band, the venue. That's all fine, but what really counts is the passion, the love, the commitment, the families, the blue sky above and the earth below stretching up around us speaking words that speak of the grandeur and eloquence of the soul. Oh yeah! That's what it's all about.

Last week I met with a bride about an upcoming wedding next July. I had a CD on in my studio playing a selection of songs that I love and some of which I have used in my Showcase Albums. She inquired about the music and it made me realize that I have so lived these last 6 months of weddings that the music and the mentality have become part of my day to day thought and feelings. I was revealed: I live my work. I love what I do and I am serious about my work. In fact it's more than my work, it's my life. Well I guess that's better than many other alternatives!!!

All that to bring me to the introduction of a beautiful, gutsy, very human and loving wedding. The kind I love to photograph. These images speak for themselves. I have to tell you that about 20% of the images here were captured by my talented daughter, Jennie Lynn. She never ceases to amaze me... but, it could be argued that I'm her Dad. Then again, I'm very picky about what makes it into my albums and Jennie Lynn continues to make the cut.

So, here's to all the couples that I photographed this summer. You are more beautiful than you know. Thank you for your inspiration. Thank you for sharing your wedding moments. Now, may you live your dreams!

Here's a few pictures from my original blog and I present to you the wedding of Marcia and Joshua.

A Montana wedding to remember.

The wedding of Lisa and Jason

Take a look at how beautiful a wedding can be in September in Red Lodge, Montana. Lisa and Jason planned their wedding inside the church, and they got the most amazing afternoon for photos in the mountains near Red Lodge at the Rock Creek Resort.

I present to you, The Wedding album of Lisa and Jason.

Hat's off to our men in uniform. Jason was surrounded by his fellow Army Rangers and West Point graduates. It was a pleasure to do something special for these men that give their lives to serve our country.

Beth and Aaron plan their June wedding.

A wonderfully windy day on the Yellowstone River!

I had some fun in the wind yesterday afternoon. I met Beth and Aaron down by the Yellowstone River here in Livingston for their engagement photos. Beth does the local news in Bozeman for NBC and has just switched to the CBS affiliate. Aaron works at the Bozeman airport keeping things safe for travel and meticulously packs your bags into those magnificent flying machines. They are a delightful couple and I'm looking forward to their wedding at the Soldiers Chapel in Big Sky.

And don't miss Beth's dog... SPIKE! SPIKE rocks in the photos!

OK, so here's some photos.

Oh and last weekend I shot my last wedding for the season and it was soooo wonderful. It was a chilly day at Chico Hot Spring but Katie and Robert, being the outdoors people that they are, chose to have their wedding outside in the Field of Dreams. Lauren Brown graced me with her talent and beauty on this wedding. Lauren has been my protege for the last four years, now I can say that she's my best competition and I'm really proud of her. She joined me as second camera and you should see this woman's work. Ok, here's her Link. Personally, I'm in love with her photography. I'll have some photos ready to share in a few more days.

All for now, keep loving and living well. Best regards, Larry
