Mission Creek Ranch Wedding

Heather and Noah: A hot July wedding!

We've had a string of very hot days here in Montana. Heather and Noah's wedding was probably the hottest wedding day I've ever had. It was 100 degrees in the shade but everyone didn't seem to mind. Spirits were high and the joy of the day was evident in everyone's faces.

This was my first wedding at the Mission Creek Ranch, just East of Livingston. It's a beautiful place with unmatched scenic views of the Crazy Mountains. See for yourself.

Seeley Lake Wedding

A remarkably beautiful day!

Well, here it is. Simple, beautiful, unique... a very special wedding day story that was just begging to be told in pictures, and it all started over 15 years ago when these high school sweethearts took divergent paths in life. If you want to read about their amazing story, just pause the show on the newspaper spread and get all the details. This is a story for all you hopeful (not hopeless) romantic types out there, myself included.

Tracy and Kyle, What a treat! Thanks so much for taking me all the way to Seeley Lake for your wedding celebration. May your days together be long and full of joy!

Enjoy! Larry

Who is Larry?

Funny Friday afternoon thoughts.

OK, so who is Larry? Who am I? The question that philosophers and contemplative types have approached thoughtfully for centuries. Well, here is my funny read on this question. A little humor for a Friday evening. Possibly influenced by shooting back to back wedding events since the beginning of May.

I've read that you shouldn't take your self too seriously so here is a series of photos of who or what you might see, when viewing this guy named Larry taking pictures at a wedding. Of course I dress up a bit more when I go to weddings!

These were taken by my wonderful assistant Carmen Daye while in Great Falls this week on an assignment. She's fills that lovely face with talent and joy!

BE THE CAMERA.

USE YOUR HEAD.

AND, WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, JUST SMILE!

And this is Carmen.

Tomorrow, Heather Wright is marrying Noah Schroder at her families' beautiful Mission Creek Ranch and I wouldn't miss it for the world. My young friend summed it up with her own version of my definitive caption... "beauty... as it occurs naturally" : "Beauty as it busts out on it's own."

Have a great weekend. Larry

Grand Targhee

Music in the mountains.

Here are some fun images of the Targhee Music Festival held at the Grand Targhee Ski Resort on the west face of the Tetons in Alta, Wyoming. What a great festival. The festival site is at 8500 feet above sea level in this beautiful high mountains valley that is a fantastic ski resort during the winter. But you would have never believed it this weekend with temperature in the mid 80's during the day and a cool 53 at night.

I saw two of my favorite singer song writers, Iris Dement and David Wilcox, I've put some photos below. Many other greats filled the mountain air with their music. If you're interested in a mountain getaway filled with music and fun check this out for next year. They also hold a blue grass music festival in August. Here's the link.

Next weekend I'm looking forward to a beautiful wedding at the Mission Creek Ranch. Have a fine week.

Mikal and Armand June 30, 2007

With the Montana Wedding Dog!

I should probably preface this album by saying, if you are friends or family of Mikal and Armand you should probably get out the tissues. This album will make you laugh and it will make you cry. The warmth, the beauty, the presence of Mikal's deceased father, the family bond, the toast by Mikal's brother, Armand's parents, Mikal's Mom and Stepfather, Grandma and Grandpa... it was all very moving.

Mikal and Armand it was an honor! Love the moments!

I'm off to Grand Targhee Resort for a music festival this weekend. You can look forward to some photos of a different kind next week.

Tracy and Kyle at Seeley Lake

Special couple, special place, a special day.

Just got back from 3 days on Seeley Lake. Heather and I decided to take a little time by the lake while in the area to photograph the wedding of Tracy and Kyle. This was a special couple, a special place and a special day. Like hundreds of weddings in Montana this last weekend, it took place on the day which is being called the luckiest day of the century... 7/7/2007.

Well it certainly was a lucky and beautiful day for Tracy and Kyle. These two were childhood sweethearts that had sworn love to each other in their teens, and then broke up to move on to college and took their separate paths. As fate would have it and in fullfillment of their youthful promises, Tracy and Kyle were united in marriage on Saturday at the Three Falls Inn at Seeley Lake. Right after the ceremony we took a drive to The Lodges on Seeley Lake that was previously owned by the grooms family. The lodge held many golden childhood memories for Kyle. It was the perfect spot to photograph these two.

By the way we stayed at the Lodges on Seeley and the accommodations were great. You've got to see this property to appreciate it. I think Seeley Lake goes unnoticed by many. As you drive by on the highway you can't really see this hidden gem of a lake. If you're planning a 2008 or 2009 Montana wedding you might want to check this place out. Get the number off of their website and give Kerry a call and tell her that Larry Stanley referred you. They'll treat you like family!

Here's just a few images for now. Happy summer days! Larry

June 24th wedding of Helen and Orion

In the Temple at Church Universal and Triumphant

Families from Montana and the UK came together last Sunday for the marriage of Helen and Orion. It was a wonderfully devotional service in the Church at Church Universal and Triumphant. Sundown photos of the wedding party at the old Ranch Office under the scenery of Electric Peak. Later everyone joined for dancing, cake and toasting in the reception at the Lighthouse Restaurant on Hwy. 89. It was a great time. Thanks for the great memories.

Enjoy these beautiful images of a delightful young couple. Happy Trails and a life full of blessings to Helen and Orion.

Mikal and Armand June 30th

Rockin TJ Ranch in Bozeman, Montana

Last Saturday, the sun shone warm upon the beautiful wedding of Mikal and Armand. What an incredible day in the hills outside of Bozeman. I'm a bit behind on the album building, but I thought I would share a few images here before I blast off to my next adventure.

This Saturday I'm traveling to Seeley Lake for the wedding of Tracy and Kyle at the Three Falls Lodge. Tracy and Kyle are high school sweethearts that reunited after life took them down different paths, and this time it's for good!!! I can't wait to see what divine beauty come out of this occasion. Corny huh? Yeah, so what... I've always been a hopeless romantic.

Have a great week, Larry
