Josh and Marcia, September 8th Wedding

Chico Hot Springs Resort wedding.

So here I am, building the third to the last album of the summer wedding season here in Montana. Looking back upon the wonder of the summer in these mountain valleys. And, I have one thing to say. Give me a "real" and passionate wedding any day of the week. I don't care how fancy the flowers are, how much they paid for the dress, the rings, the band, the venue. That's all fine, but what really counts is the passion, the love, the commitment, the families, the blue sky above and the earth below stretching up around us speaking words that speak of the grandeur and eloquence of the soul. Oh yeah! That's what it's all about.

Last week I met with a bride about an upcoming wedding next July. I had a CD on in my studio playing a selection of songs that I love and some of which I have used in my Showcase Albums. She inquired about the music and it made me realize that I have so lived these last 6 months of weddings that the music and the mentality have become part of my day to day thought and feelings. I was revealed: I live my work. I love what I do and I am serious about my work. In fact it's more than my work, it's my life. Well I guess that's better than many other alternatives!!!

All that to bring me to the introduction of a beautiful, gutsy, very human and loving wedding. The kind I love to photograph. These images speak for themselves. I have to tell you that about 20% of the images here were captured by my talented daughter, Jennie Lynn. She never ceases to amaze me... but, it could be argued that I'm her Dad. Then again, I'm very picky about what makes it into my albums and Jennie Lynn continues to make the cut.

So, here's to all the couples that I photographed this summer. You are more beautiful than you know. Thank you for your inspiration. Thank you for sharing your wedding moments. Now, may you live your dreams!

Here's a few pictures from my original blog and I present to you the wedding of Marcia and Joshua.
